Tanemura Electric is a small, family-run electrical business based in the Shuswap. For over 60 years, our family has been serving local homeowners and businesses with straightforward, reliable electrical work.
Today, the business is owned and operated by Brandon Kaufman, a Red Seal electrician with over 19 years of hands-on experience. He believes in honest communication, practical solutions, and building lasting relationships with the families and businesses he serves.
While the company has evolved over the years, our values remain the same: hard work, integrity, and a commitment to quality.
OUR HISTORY
Tanemura Electric began in 1960, when Ken and Kiyoe Tanemura built a small, trusted electrical business in the Shuswap. In those early days, Ken’s work was characterized by simplicity and directness, reflecting the values of his time.
In 1987, their son Ryan Tanemura took over the business. Renaming the business to "Tanemura Electric 1987", then later, Tanemura Electric Ltd.," the company grew under Ryan’s leadership, taking on custom homes and integrating new electrical technologies, while always keeping the focus on integrity and customer care. Ryan’s warmth, humour, and reliability made him a familiar face in the community and cemented Tanemura Electric as a trusted local name.
Today, the business is owned and operated by Brandon Kaufman, Ryan’s son-in-law, who carries forward the family’s values with a modern, hands-on approach. Brandon does the work himself, bringing over 19 years of experience to every job. Though the tools have changed, the heart of Tanemura Electric remains the same: honest service, dependable craftsmanship, and a genuine connection with every client.
